When it came to athletics, Ryan was always drawn to self-defense and
combat sports. He enjoys the idea of one-on-one competition, and the
certain level of intensity in the various fighting arts that is very different from
traditional team sports. For over 8 years, Ryan has trained in wrestling,
Aikido, boxing, grappling and basic mixed martial arts. He believes that
grappling in particular, as sport or as self defense, is not only highly
effective but exciting to learn and participate in. A dynamic, creative and
intelligent martial art that challenges you both physically and mentally, as
well as being a great and unique way to get or stay in shape, as
demonstrated in his classes.
